Strictly speaking, many of the issues listed here are not really issues of the Flower app per se, but issues of particular devices and their particular installed software. Every year, both the software that runs our devices and the devices themselves become more mature, so over time we expect issues with our apps to become fewer. Unless you have an older device, many of the issues listed here are rarely seen these days.
App responds sluggishly to gestures.
This app is a presentation of the original Wildflowers of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area web site, and that site contains a few web pages that are "large". Some hand-held devices, especially older, or slower devices (or even new and fast ones that have a lot of apps running in the background) may experience difficulties opening these large pages, or experience significant slow-downs trying to display them. All of these pages are non-essential to the operation of the app. You may wish to avoid them if they lead to issues on your device. They are all plainly labeled so they are pretty easy to avoid. In particular, screen readers can become quite sluggish on these large pages.
Some pages will not scroll to the bottom.
On some older devices there is a very odd behavior where the bottom portion of a page may become inaccessible. The affected page simply will not scroll below a certain point. A workaround that sometimes helps is to do a couple of screen zooms by first spreading and then pinching your fingers.
Some page layouts may look strange.
We've recently pushed the maximum page zoom up a notch to improve the legibility of the text on smaller devices. One of the downsides of this is that some of the pages may suffer a distortion of the page layout because they were not designed for this. So if things sometimes look a bit funny to you on the "Over-Large" zoom you are not mistaken. The same thing can happen with the Text Size setting of "Over-Large", and when used together, the distortion may become quite pronounced (but at least the text is large and clear).
After the device has been rotated or you've changed the page zoom you may find that Back/Forward navigations result in strange zoom effects.
These issues generally can be resolved by pinching the page back to an un-zoomed state.
The Back/Forward history of the app is limited to about 50 navigations.
Well, there's not too much we can do about this since it is a limitation of the Android system itself. We console ourselves that we cannot imagine anyone actually wanting to go back more than 50 times in a row!
