1 Perianth segments (6) fused only at base (tepals), never bluish or violet

2 Shoots 1 with 1 leaf; blade 150−500+ × 8−16 mm, keeled with angled midrib; perianth yellow with maroon (brownish) to green midstripe; each stamen with a pair of appendages at filament base .. Bloomeria crocea var. crocea   [pics]

2' Shoots 1−3 with several leaves; blade 10−90 mm long, slender and hemi-cylindric; perianth white with light green midstripe; stamens lacking appendages .. Muilla maritima   [pics]
